Compare the Leap 12oz kids tumbler with larger BrüMate options to find the right size for your daily hydration needs. Weigh portability against capacity.
Quick answer
For a child or a quick, portable sip, the Leap 12oz is ideal. For all-day hydration or hot drinks, a larger BrüMate tumbler will serve you better.
Portability vs. Capacity: The Core Tradeoff
The Leap 12oz is designed as a kids tumbler, but its compact size and leakproof lid make it a great choice for anyone who wants a small, spill-proof drink for short trips. Its 12-ounce capacity means you'll need refills more often, which is a tradeoff for its easy portability.
Larger BrüMate tumblers, like the 20oz or 30oz Era or Nav models, hold more liquid and keep drinks cold longer due to their larger thermal mass. They're better for a full workday, long car rides, or hot coffee that you want to stay hot. The tradeoff is they are heavier and less convenient for small hands or tight cup holders.
Leakproof Lid: A Practical Advantage
The Leap 12oz features a 100% leakproof lid designed for playing without spills. This is a key advantage for kids and for adults who toss their tumbler in a bag. Larger BrüMate tumblers often have different lid designs (like the Flip or slider lids) that may not be fully leakproof, so check the specific product details.
Leap 12oz vs Larger Tumblers: Tradeoffs at a Glance
- Capacity: Leap 12oz holds 12 oz; larger BrüMate tumblers hold 20–40 oz. The Leap is for short sips, larger sizes for all-day hydration.
- Portability: Leap 12oz is compact and lightweight, fitting small hands and tight cup holders. Larger tumblers are bulkier but carry more. If you need one drink to last a school day, go bigger. If you want a small, easy-to-carry cup, choose the Leap.
- Leakproof Design: Leap 12oz has a 100% leakproof lid. Larger BrüMate tumblers may have different lid types (Flip, slider) that are not always leakproof. For spill-proof confidence in a bag, the Leap 12oz wins. For easy sipping at a desk, a larger tumbler's lid may be more convenient.
